Christian purchased the Guzzle H2O Stream unit at Overland Expo West because he believed the device was so well thought out and put together. He liked it so much he deemed it his favorite product of the show. Since Christian put down his credit card and purchased the unit in front of us, we asked him to thoroughly test out the unit and give us a review. At SHIFTPOD, we spend a lot of time in the field - from desert races and “That Thing in the Desert” to Fire Camps, backcountry Search and Rescue, and international disaster response missions.
We find ourselves in some pretty remote places, putting our new products, and other products we use through rigorous testing, usually subjecting them to very rough treatment. One of the cool new items we are very excited about is the GuzzleH2O.
Water is one of the items which is mission-critical on all of our trips. You literally can’t go without it. For years, we hauled water with us in tanks and bladders. I once tried a filter and a local water source on the Inca trail in Peru, and it turned out to be a regrettable decision. I ended up sicker than I would like to admit. Since then, we have relied on hauling water in bottles, tanks, and bladders. The challenge with storing water in plastic tanks under the sun is that it can become smelly and even develop unwanted substances. That’s why we have to use bleach or chlorine in the water tanks.
