Luno’s Car Window Screens offer a practical way to enjoy ventilation in a parked vehicle without the hassle of flying insects.
Designed for car campers and road trippers, these mesh screens slide over rear passenger doors to provide airflow while offering a degree of privacy and sun protection.
The mesh is sheer enough to allow air to pass through easily, but dense enough to deter bugs. While not completely opaque, it does reduce visibility into the vehicle, especially at night or in low light. In early morning hours, it also helps block a moderate amount of sunlight, which can be useful for those sleeping inside.
Fitment was generally good, though we noticed some discrepancies in sizing. The medium size screens measured about an inch shorter than listed, which affected fit on larger windows.
For vehicles that we tested the screens on like the Rivian R1S, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, and Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Series—all of which have larger rear window frames—the large size worked best and provided full coverage.
Installation is simple: just stretch the screen over the door frame like a sleeve. The elastic cuff at the bottom helps hold it in place along the window base. The screens stay put reasonably well and don’t interfere with the door closing.
Each set includes two screens and a compact storage sack. They fold down easily and don’t take up much room, which makes them convenient to keep in a door pocket or gear drawer.
For anyone looking to rest, sleep, or camp in their vehicle, these screens are an affordable and easy-to-use solution that adds comfort without complexity.
Aside from window screens, Luno also offers a sunroof screen as well as specialized camper van and 4Runner rear window screens. Check out the entire line of Luno screens here.
