With over 750 hours of meticulous restoration work per vehicle, Arcade Cars blends European craftsmanship with military heritage to create one-of-a-kind G-Wagons that combine classic silhouettes with contemporary performance and luxury.
Some vehicles are too iconic to fade into history. The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon—born as a military utility vehicle and later elevated to luxury status—sits firmly in that camp.
While most shops either restore them to factory spec or push them toward modern luxury SUV builds, Arcade Cars charts a different path.
The UK- and Austria-based outfit takes vintage G-Wagons, some are decommissioned Swiss military models, and reimagines them into one-of-a-kind luxury 4x4s, merging their utilitarian origins with modern refinement and technology.
Arcade’s approach balances nostalgia with innovation. Each project begins with a complete disassembly, every nut and bolt documented and inspected before the build continues.
From there, the chassis undergoes hundreds of hours of repair—rust removal, panel correction, and anti-corrosive treatments—before fresh paint is applied in a climate-controlled facility. Interiors are then rebuilt from the ground up, with customer choices ranging from Ferrari- and Jaguar-grade leathers to Alcantara and synthetic fabrics designed for durability.
Options include premium audio systems, reverse cameras, CarPlay integration, and tailored storage for sports gear.
Engines receive the same attention. Customers can retain the original powertrain—rebuilt to last decades more—or opt for upgraded units tuned by AMG-trained engineers.
Every engine is stripped down, inspected, and rebuilt using Mercedes-authorized components before being tested and refined for reliability and performance. Each vehicle is road-tested for 1,000 miles before delivery.
The result is a bespoke G-Class that retains its military silhouette but drives like a contemporary SUV. Buyers can choose from three base models: the GE 230 six- or eight-seat cabriolet, the GD 240 six-seat roadster, or the GE 300/500 five-seat SUV.
Build time averages 16–20 weeks, with more than 750 hours of work and thousands of fasteners going into each example.
Arcade Cars’ mission is rooted in keeping individuality alive. With workshops in Austria, Germany, and the UK, the company blends European craftsmanship with an ethos that driving should be about more than transportation.
Each finished G-Wagon reflects this vision: part classic, part modern, and entirely unique. Learn more about Arcade Cars by clicking here.
