At Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona, Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) has introduced a new rooftop camping concept built specifically for the Jeep Wrangler.
The Awning and Rooftop Tent (ARTT) concept is a lightweight, low-profile solution that integrates directly with the vehicle’s roof—eliminating the need for a traditional roof rack.
The ARTT concept was developed in collaboration with Dometic and designed through the Stellantis Star*Up intrapreneurship program. It features a carbon-fiber shell to minimize weight and improve aerodynamics, addressing common concerns associated with rooftop tents.
Inside the shell, the tent uses Dometic’s AIR Frame Inflation technology and includes a built-in awning that unfolds 270 degrees. A queen-size mattress fits inside, and users can access the tent from inside the Wrangler by removing the factory freedom panels. A carbon-fiber step protects the center console during entry and exit.
Displayed atop the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser concept—first shown at the 2025 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab—the ARTT system is positioned as a practical addition for overlanders and weekend adventurers alike.
The Sunchaser concept includes a range of modifications suited for extended off-road travel, such as a 2-inch lift, 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires, rock rails, and vented steel fender flares. Inside, the cabin features custom two-tone leather seats, gloss black trim, and weather-resistant floor mats.
The ARTT concept expands JPP’s catalog of factory-backed accessories, which includes components like axles, lift kits, winches, and skid plates—all engineered in conjunction with Jeep’s product teams for OEM-level fit and finish.
While the ARTT system remains a concept for now, it offers a look at what future overland-focused accessories could look like from Jeep and its partners.
