For the first time, overlanders can immerse themselves in motorsport history while showcasing expedition vehicles at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca during Monterey Car Week’s crown jewel event, featuring Formula One’s 75th anniversary celebration.

Each August, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca becomes a rolling showcase of racing history during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion—an event often described as a living museum with engines roaring to life.

This year, OVR Magazine is blending two distinct but kindred passions—overlanding and vintage motorsports—by launching a new presence called OVR Outpost, held August 13–16, 2025, during Monterey Car Week.

The OVR Outpost will be a curated camping experience located at the heart of the motorsports action. Select overland vehicles—including purpose-built campers, expedition SUVs, and vanlife rigs—will be on display and in use throughout the four-day gathering. Swing by and visit Rogue Vans, Outside Van, Fox Factory and more!

The idea: camp in comfort while immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of more than half a century of racing history.

Onsite camping is available throughout Laguna Seca, and for those looking to mix adventure travel with trackside thrills, the OVR Outpost is the place to be. Look for us near Hospitality Island between Turns 2, 3 and 4 —a prime vantage point to catch the action and explore overland builds up close.

Set among the rolling hills of California’s central coast, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the crown jewel of Monterey Car Week and the largest event of the week.

This year, it celebrates the 75th Anniversary of Formula One, bringing together authentic, period-correct race cars from the golden eras of motorsport. More than 550 cars are hand-selected for their provenance, authenticity, and condition—vehicles that once thundered through circuits like Spa-Francorchamps, Monaco, and Monza now return to action here.

These aren’t static showpieces. From pre-war Grand Prix cars to ‘60s GT legends to turbo-era F1 screamers, the Reunion puts racing history on full display—at speed. And for the first time in Monterey history, NASCAR legends will compete in their original IROC (International Race of Champions) cars, offering a rare and thundering spectacle for American motorsport fans.

While the paddock is filled with iconic machines, the experience stretches far beyond the racetrack. Expect an elevated festival atmosphere with gourmet food options, family activities, interactive exhibits, and appearances by legendary drivers and racing personalities. For overlanders, it’s a rare chance to pair remote living with world-class automotive heritage.

OVR Outpost will serve as both a gathering place and a visual showcase, representing the evolution of adventure travel. Look for overland vehicles outfitted for remote living, complete with roof tents, solar charging systems, and custom interiors—proof that self-reliant travel can still include a front-row seat to world-class motorsport.

If you’ve never attended the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, this is the year to change that. And if you’ve never camped trackside among priceless race cars and likeminded adventurers, this may be your only chance.
