Built on decades of engineering expertise, real-world testing, and adventure experience, the Dometic Front Runner Series brings together a range of trusted premium products designed to help adventurers go further, carry more, and explore the next unknown with confidence.

The release of Slimline 3 Roof Rack exemplifies that philosophy, highlighting Dometic’s ongoing focus on innovation, durability, and smart design.

Combining Swedish innovation with design and testing in South Africa, the Slimline 3 Roof Rack has been engineered for those who demand uncompromising performance in the world’s harshest environments.

It combines next-generation engineering with practical functionality to deliver the most advanced, lightest and toughest roof rack system Dometic has ever produced.

The Key Features of the Slimline 3

The Slimline 3 introduces a range of significant engineering advancements to improve strength, modularity, usability, and overall adventure-readiness.

Unrivaled Modularity

Individual slats can be added or removed without dismantling the rack structure. Adjustable slat pitch allows real-time gear customization while still maintaning full structural stability.

Next-Generation Slat Architecture

A completely redesigned slat profile delivers greater strength and stiffness while remaining lightweight. The result is a stronger, more capable platform built to withstand demanding conditions.

Integrated dual T-slots offer greater flexibility for mounting gear, rack accessories, and adventure equipment exactly where they are needed.

Huge Range of Accessories

A wide range of accessories available to prep Slimline 3 Roof Rack for any adventure. This rack is compatible with all our top-mount rack accessories. There is also a range of Slimline 3-specific rack accessories.

Low-Profile Design

With a 20% lower overall profile than the Slimline II, the Slimline 3 helps reduce wind resistance and noise while improving aesthetics and vehicle integration. The flat platform lacks a perimeter lip, thereby simplifying the loading process.

Built-in Tie-Down System

Standardized tie-down points are integrated into each of the rack’s four corners for instant security.

Integrated Wire Routing

Concealed wiring channels create a cleaner installation and simplify the integration of lighting, power systems, and other accessories.

Premium Corrosion-Resistant Construction

High-strength 3CR12 stainless-steel sheet-metal parts and black-coated stainless-steel fasteners provide outstanding durability, long-lasting performance, and a sleek, stealthy look in tough environments.

Easy-Release Mounting System

A proprietary mounting system enables easier removal and reinstallation while preserving vehicle integrity, roof seal and simplifying maintenance.

A Platform Built on Proven Adventure Heritage

Built on Dometic’s innovative legacy and Front Runner’s proven expedition performance, the Dometic Front Runner Series offers a unified, connected solution for adventure gear designed for tough conditions. It integrates roof racks, storage, rack accessories, camping equipment, and future innovations into a single platform.

Each Dometic Front Runner Series product is designed to work seamlessly together, enabling customers to build complete adventure ecosystems rather than relying on standalone equipment.

The Slimline 3 Roof Rack represents the first expression of this philosophy and demonstrates the direction of future product development across the Dometic Front Runner Series. Soon, customers will be able to choose a Front Runner Series product for all their serious adventure gear needs.

Leadership Perspective

“Slimline 3 reflects our commitment to continuous innovation and our belief that adventure equipment should evolve alongside the people who use it,” says Gerhard Hartzenberg, Head of Dometic Vehicle Outfitters at Dometic.

“By combining intelligent engineering, premium materials, and real-world testing, we have created a roof rack that is stronger, lighter, smarter and more capable than ever before. It is built to help adventurers tackle whatever lies ahead.”
