Leitner Designs reveals GearPOD HD, the third generation of the brand’s patented eye-level truck bed storage system. Built from 11-gauge 5052 H32 aluminum, GearPOD HD delivers the durability demanded by professional tradespeople and serious overlanders while offering 20% more usable interior space than the standard GearPOD XL.
“GearPOD changed how people think about truck bed storage. But some of our customers wanted something even tougher,” said Leitner Designs Founder and Chief Designer Bernhard Leitner. “GearPOD HD is our answer. It’s built from thick aluminum, maximizes every inch of interior volume, and still weighs the same as the standard GearPOD XL. It’s the most capable storage box we’ve ever made.”
GearPOD HD shares the same external dimensions as the GearPOD XL, making it a direct upgrade for existing Leitner Active Cargo System owners. The aluminum construction eliminates the internal ribbing required by the rotomolded design, creating a clean interior with 20% more usable space. A gas strut assist door and single external latch — connected to a hidden internal two-point locking bar — keep gear secure and accessible.
