The ACS ROOF from Leitner Designs brings 4-inch load bars, tensile-loaded Grade 10.9 fasteners, and a 1,000-lb static rating to the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 and Lexus GX 550 — the only platform rack engineered to the same standard as the trucks themselves.
The Only Roof Rack Engineered to Land Cruiser Standards. Widest load bars. Infinite adjustability. Tensile-loaded fasteners.
- 4-inch load bars — twice as wide and twice as stiff as competitors — are the widest available for the LC 250 and GX 550.
- The only platform rack with infinitely adjustable load bars — rigidity comes from the external frame, not the bars themselves.
- All critical fasteners operate in tensile load — where fasteners are strongest — not shear.

Leitner Designs today announced the ACS ROOF platform rack for the 2024–2026 Toyota Land Cruiser 250 and Lexus GX 550. Every Leitner product is engineered to exceed real-world demands, not marketing benchmarks — and the ACS ROOF for LC250/GX550 is no exception.
The LC 250 and GX 550 are over-engineered vehicles. Most aftermarket racks are not. They use laser-cut aluminum plate, narrow load bars, and fasteners mounted in the shear position.
Leitner’s ACS ROOF uses, 4-inch load bars, and Grade 10.9 fasteners in tensile configuration. It’s the difference between bolting on an accessory and installing equipment worthy of the vehicle.

“People waited years for these trucks,” said Leitner Designs Founder and Chief Designer Bernhard Leitner. “They didn’t wait that long to bolt stamped metal to the roof. The ACS ROOF is the only rack that matches the Land Cruiser’s strength and the Lexus’s refinement.”
Widest Load Bars Available
Each ACS ROOF load bar is 4.0 inches wide and 1.2 inches tall — twice as wide as competing racks. The wider bars provide superior stiffness, reduced flex under heavy loads, and less vibration at highway speeds.
They also feature two T-slots per bar (most racks have one), doubling the mounting options for accessories.

The load bars are wide enough that they would contact the LC 250/GX 550’s factory satellite antenna.
Rather than narrow the bars or raise the rack to clear it, Leitner engineered cutouts that accommodate the antenna while shielding and protecting the antenna and preserving full bar width. The result is maximum rack length with full liftgate clearance. No compromises.
Structural Engineering Advantage
Leitner racks derive their rigidity from the external frame, not the load bars. This allows infinitely adjustable bars without sacrificing strength.

The ACS ROOF uses toothed channels along its exterior frame — load bars slide anywhere along the rack’s length and lock in place with Leitner-branded Torx bolts. Repositioning takes seconds. Need to move a rooftop tent forward to balance weight? Done.
Fasteners Matter
Unlike competitors that load fasteners in shear, Leitner designs all critical fasteners to operate in tensile load, where fasteners are strongest. Leitner engineers proprietary Grade 10.9 hardened alloy-steel fasteners with corrosion-resistant zinc-nickel coating, friction modifiers, and pre-applied thread locker. This avoids galling, galvanic corrosion, and vibration-induced loosening.
Built to Real-World Standards
The ACS ROOF is constructed from 6063 T6 aluminum extrusion with multi-wall thicknesses ranging from 1.5mm to 3.0mm. The rack is rated at 1,000 lbs static capacity, 500 lbs on-road dynamic, and 250 lbs off-road dynamic.

These are real, field-validated numbers — not theoretical estimates. It mounts to factory points with no drilling required.
Leitner products are tested on high-speed desert test loops, including Johnson Valley and the Mojave Desert — some of the harshest off-road environments in North America. Every Leitner Designs product reflects an obsession with longevity, serviceability, and real-world abuse tolerance.
Integrated Gear Ecosystem
The ACS ROOF pairs with Leitner’s GearPOD ROOF — the world’s first side-opening rooftop storage box. GearPOD ROOF holds up to 100 lbs on its top, including MAXTRAX and RotopaX via pre-marked mounting points. Together, the ACS ROOF and GearPOD ROOF form the only integrated rooftop storage system from a single manufacturer.
