The knife maker’s latest release keeps the trusted Shaman’s strength and ergonomics while trimming nine percent of the weight through fiberglass-reinforced nylon handle scales and maintaining the signature Compression Lock mechanism.

Spyderco’s Shaman folding knife has earned a reputation among knife users for its strength, ergonomics, and dependable performance.

The new Shaman Lightweight keeps that same proven design while shedding weight and cost through an updated handle construction.

Instead of the traditional G-10 handle, the Shaman Lightweight uses injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) scales. The change trims about nine percent off the overall weight and introduces a textured surface for improved grip.

Nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners maintain rigidity and support the Compression Lock mechanism, a hallmark of Spyderco’s mid-sized working knives.

Its 3.58-inch blade is crafted from Carpenter CTS BD1N stainless steel and ground full-flat for balanced cutting performance. The blade can be had in either PlainEdge or SpyderEdge serrated form, each opening smoothly via Spyderco’s trademark Round Hole.

For carry flexibility, the knife includes a four-position pocket clip that allows both tip-up and tip-down configurations on either side. With a closed length of 4.70 inches and total weight of 4.8 ounces, the Shaman Lightweight remains built for hard use while offering a more manageable feel in hand and pocket.
