The Batch eAF.1 arrives with a high-output motor, large-capacity battery and utility-focused features — but several key specs remain unconfirmed ahead of its release.
First Look: Batch eAF.1 Fat-Tire eBike
Batch has introduced the eAF.1, a fat-tire electric bicycle designed to handle paved roads, dirt routes and light trail use. Its combination of a high-output rear hub motor, wide tires and integrated cargo rack also gives it the practical features needed for commuting and recreational riding.
Electric Assistance
The eAF.1 is powered by a 750-watt Shengyi rear hub motor. Batch’s introductory information lists the motor at up to 85 Nm of torque, while the accompanying specification sheet states 90 Nm.
Either figure suggests the motor should provide substantial assistance when climbing hills or traveling over loose surfaces.
A 720Wh battery supplies power to the motor, while a KD716 display allows riders to monitor the bike’s operating information. Batch has not provided estimated range, charging time or pedal-assist details.
Built for Mixed Terrain
The aluminum frame incorporates a rear cargo rack rather than relying on a separate bolt-on accessory. This gives riders a place to carry bags, supplies or other equipment during commutes and recreational trips.
The eAF.1 rolls on 26x4.0-inch tires mounted to double-wall aluminum rims. Their wide footprint should help provide traction and stability on dirt, gravel and other uneven surfaces, although the added size and weight may be noticeable when maneuvering the bike without motor assistance.
An aluminum suspension fork provides 80 mm of travel to help absorb bumps. Stopping power comes from Tektro HD-E3120 hydraulic disc brakes paired with 180 mm rotors.
Components and Equipment
The drivetrain uses a Shimano Tourney rear derailleur, an eight-speed 12-32T cassette and a KMC Z8 chain. A 48-tooth chainring is mounted to a 165 mm alloy crankset.
The supplied component list identifies the shifter as a Shimano six-speed unit, which conflicts with the otherwise eight-speed drivetrain specifications and may require clarification from Batch.
Additional equipment includes a 720 mm aluminum handlebar, dual-density rubber grips, a Cionlli saddle and an aluminum seatpost. A dual-mode front light is also included for improved visibility during low-light riding.
With its 750-watt motor, large battery, fat tires and integrated rack, the Batch eAF.1 is positioned as a utility-focused eBike capable of extending everyday rides beyond paved streets.
