We put MORRFlate’s innovative Air Hub prototype through its paces in California’s Alabama Hills, testing the digital device’s promise to automate tire inflation and deflation with precision PSI control.

OVR recently had the exclusive opportunity to test the prototype of the MORRFlate Air Hub, an innovative tire inflation device that promises to revolutionize the overland community’s approach to tire air management.

After receiving a call from Justin “Ah-Z” Khoo, a representative from MORRFlate, who assured us that this new product would change the game for tire inflation and deflation systems, we were eager to put it to the test.

The MORRFlate Air Hub is a digital, automatic air control device designed to simplify and expedite the tire inflation and deflation process. The concept is straightforward: you set your desired PSI, and the Air Hub takes care of the rest.

What It Does

For airing down, simply connect your hoses, fit the couplers into the slide valves on either side, attach the other ends to your tires, and open the valve on the Air Hub.

You’ll hear the air deflate as it equalizes the pressure across the connected tires, giving you a precise reading before continuing to the desired PSI. The device beeps to signal the completion of the air down process.

Airing back up is a similar process, but with the help of an air compressor that pumps air back into the tires.

Features

Key features of the Air Hub include a digital PSI selection interface that allows precise control over tire pressure. It is powered by a Lithium USB C rechargeable battery and gives you automatic inflation and deflation capabilities thanks to MORRFlate’s “Set Your Pressure Technology”, which ensures you reach the exact PSI you set.

Air Hub works with any air source that has a shutoff or blow-off valve and 1/4″ I/M fittings. It is compatible with any air hose system using 1/4″ I/M, A, T, or Aro fittings, and supports both single tire and multi-tire hoses. Its high flow solenoids ensure minimal flow restrictions; air flow is limited only by your tire’s valve stems.

Real-World Testing

We took the MORRFlate Air Hub on a trip to the Alabama Hills in California, with a trio of Ford Broncos. During our testing, the Air Hub performed admirably, quickly and efficiently managing our tire pressures.

For example, in one instance, we aired down four tires simultaneously from 31 PSI to 25 PSI in less than two minutes.

The convenience of the MORRFlate Air Hub cannot be overstated. Whether you’re dealing with extreme heat, rain, snow, or any other harsh weather conditions, the Air Hub allows you to air up or down without the usual hassles.

This level of automation and ease of use gives overlanders a very useful tool who often find themselves adjusting tire pressures in less-than-ideal environments.

Final Thoughts

While our experience with the pre-production model of the MORRFlate Air Hub was brief, it left a strong impression. The device delivered on its promise of a quicker and more convenient tire inflation and deflation system, streamlining one of the more cumbersome aspects of off-roading.
