The Overland Expo West show brought many new products and rad vehicles to Flagstaff, Arizona.
While show attendance dipped this year, the event has been a mainstay since 2009—and it’s seen its fair share of changes. Aftermarket trends may come and go, while others reinvent themselves to fit an ever-changing market. Here are the top coolest gear items we saw at Overland Expo West 2025.
Travoca Coolers
This was the first Overland Expo West for newcomers, Travoca. The company has two official employees who showcased a new line of eCoolers and various titanium wares. Their dual-zone electric coolers range from 25 liters to 60 liters, are designed in Utah and manufactured in China.
These stylish eCoolers come with an attractive bamboo façade which can be customized down the road by removing a few Allen bolts and switching out the slats. They’ve already thought of a chalkboard, flip-down table, or cutting board as possible replacements.
Travoca fridge/freezers boast an enhanced Toshiba compressor and vacuum-insulated panels. These eCoolers come with a 12-volt plug and an AC cord and can be operated via a simple digital control panel or smartphone app.
Note: Travoca hardwire kits aren’t available—yet. We put a little bug in their ear about that. Travoca coolers are slated to be available in late August via crowd funding and will also be available soon via their website. Travoca electric cooler prices range from $649.99 to $899.99.
XVENTURE Dirtbox Overland Truck Bed Topper Setup
If you’re looking for the ultimate in cargo-carrying capacity and still want to customize how you haul your gear, the new XVENTURE XV-2 Dirtbox Overland Truck Bed Topper setup might be just what you want. This is the second time both companies have collaborated, but their first time showing this combo at Overland Expo West.
The XV-2 trailer with the Dirtbox Overland Truck Bed Topper or an XV-2 with a canopy camper featuring a rooftop tent (last year’s debut model) can be ordered by contacting xventure@schuttindustries.com and requesting pricing and build configurations.
For someone who already has an American-made XV-2 trailer, they can purchase the Truck Bed Topper (TBT) to fit the XV-2 directly from Dirtbox.
They can add any of the options listed for their TBT on the website. The Dirtbox truck topper and canopy camper are only available for the XV-2, not the XV-3. Prices for this setup range from approximately $27,000 to the upper $30,000s, depending on options.
RiG’D Supply RambleSwing Pro
The RiG’D Supply RambleSwing Pro is a new product with more features and an improved weight rating (up to 350 pounds) than its sibling, the original RambleSwing (that’s rated for a maximum 300 pounds).
Ramble Swing Pro includes hitching posts and accessory wings to add additional accessories without having the bulk or weight of a spare tire.
The RambleSwing Pro bridges a gap between the original RambleSwing that features a swing-out for a bike rack or cargo carrier and the UltraSwing.
The RambleSwing Pro is $849. Its associated HitchingPost (including Accessory Wings) is $150, making this setup an ideal platform for mounting various accessories using plug-n-play mounting holes.
TrailBid.com
A unique and brand-new auction site just launched at this year’s Overland Expo West: TrailBid. This niche buying/selling site focuses primarily on adventure vehicles.
From truck campers to camper vans, customized overland rigs to expedition autos, TrailBid’s goal is to, “connect you with your dream adventure vehicle and provide a seamless buying experience.” TrailBid aims to link buyers and sellers together to find one-of-a-kind vehicles.
The company supplies comprehensive information, photographs, videos, and even CARFAX reports. They also use KeySavvy for transactions.
How TrailBid works: Purchasers pay a 5% buyer’s fee on the winning bid amount (the minimum is $250, maximum is $7,500). This is held as a deposit when you place a bid and is only charged if you win the auction. If you don’t win the auction, this hold is released. Note: No listing fees for sellers.
Heat It Insect Bite Solutions for Smartphones
When my husband, Andy Lilienthal, and I competed in the Baltic Sea Circle Rally, a 16-day, 5,000-mile road competition in Europe, my German niece gave us a bit of kit that instantly zapped bug bites and made them stop itching. We thought it was initially snake oil until we started using her bulky bug pen and loved this chemical-free way of relieving itchy bug bites.
That technology actually worked! Fast forward to the 2025 Overland Expo West show and we came upon a German company just breaking into the U.S.: heat it.
We talked with the North American rep and realized this was the same technology as the large pen-style unit my niece loaned us.
However, it was a tiny fraction of the pen’s size (smaller than a standard USB stick), could hang off a keychain, and was powered by our smartphones. Genius.
This nifty, tiny product relieves itching and burning caused by horseflies, mosquitoes, bees, and wasps. It’s a quintessential item to have when traveling, no matter if it’s in the middle of nowhere or in a major city. Price for heat it classic: $39.95, heat it pro: $59.95.
JPP ARTT Concept
Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) debuted its Awning and Rooftop Tent concept, the JPP ARTT Concept atop the 2025 Easter Jeep Safari Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser concept.
JPP partnered with Dometic on this all-in-one awning and rooftop tent system for a JL Wrangler Unlimited. This is a lightweight, low-profile tent-and-awning solution to the traditional rooftop tent setup.
This concept features a carbon-fiber shell, inflatable tent poles (using Dometic’s AIR Frame inflation technology), and more. Another cool feature is that it doesn’t use a traditional roof rack, creating a sleek, minimal profile.
Plus, it houses a queen-sized mattress and a pass-through into the vehicle. It’s not for sale yet, but we heard JPP has the intention of producing it.
Pelican Starlink Mini and Standard Cases
Pelican has long been known for its high-quality durable cases. So, it’s no surprise the company debuted new Starlink Mini and Starlink Standard cases with custom-fit foam so overlanders can securely stow their equipment.
The Pelican Starlink Mini setup uses the 1505 Air case whereas the Standard Starlink features the 1595 Air case. Prices and availability will be released soon.
CargoKits
Farview, TN company CargoKits got their start in 2021 and designs/manufacturers vehicle-based storage and kitchen solutions “for your adventurous life.”
Everything other than drawer slides are sourced from the United States. Cargo Kits storage/sleeping platforms are made from high density polyethylene (HDPE), not wood, so you don’t have to worry about swelling or degradation over time.
CargoKits makes various drawers and rear-seat delete storage drawer solutions, as well as a fully loaded CargoKitchen II system including a slide-out kitchen, optional Renogy power solution, large storage drawer (or an optional Dometic Coolmatic refrigeration drawer), running water via a Dometic Go Hydration Water Faucet, stainless steel freshwater storage tank, LED lighting, and more. Prices vary based on the system chosen and optional upgrades purchased. Custom opportunities are also available.
